Calm Down Jar. It is really easy to make. The goal is that when they are feeling out of control, they shake the jar, then sit and watch the glitter settle in the water. When the glitter settles, they can get up. This one is a really great technique to use in lieu of timeout. Oh man, I can think of about 5-7 kiddos in Vancouver who are going to be shaking their glitter jar by next week!

Cute idea for kids who need a "cool down" time. Mind Jar. It is really easy to make. The goal is that when they are feeling out of control, they shake the jar, then sit and watch the glitter settle in the water. When the glitter settles, we finish our meditation. This one is a really great technique to use in lieu of timeout.

Absolute stupid. I would want to go to timeout. A time out jar. Shake it up then watch the glitter slowly fall to the bottom. When you are as calm as the glitter in the jar you can come back. Cute idea.

Calm-Down-Mind Jar by herewearetogether: 'A mind jar is a meditation tool to use whenever a child feels stressed, overwhelmed or upset. Imagine the glitter as your thoughts. When you shake the jar, imagine your head full of whirling thoughts, then watch them slowly settle while you calm down.' Made with glitter glue, hot water, food coloring and a tiny tub of glitter. #Calming_Mind_Jar #Kids #Crafts #Meditation
