Leonardo da Vinci I Madonna Litta (Madonna and the Child), ca 1490, oil on canvas (transferred from panel), 42 cm × 33 cm, Hermitage Museum, Saint Petersburg. This work was painted sometime in the 1480s for the Visconti rulers of Milan and soon passed to the Litta family, in whose possession it would remain for centuries. In 1865, Alexander II of Russia acquired it from Count Litta, quondam minister to St Petersburg, and deposited the painting in the Hermitage Museum.

"Madonna Litta" by Leonardo da Vinci glorifies the divine aspect of humanity in a religious sense, a major theme in Renaissance art. Leonardo da Vinci was fascinated with the human body and how it worked. He was an inventor with friends in high places. You can see the use of the finest frabrics in Madonna's bodice. Her Beguin fits her very well as if she is clothed in honor. She is wearing an undergarment as the style was in Renaissance. This now hangs in the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg.

Less than 30% in OK and AR? Wow. Think moms need to feel empowered that they can do it.

I also think breastfeeding is fabulous. I would probably have way too much birth art in my house if all of the decorating was left up to me.
