Our gang was enjoying a great dinner at our business buddies and friends, the Laurencins, when our importer Mozy Tehrani from Beverly Hills turned up the evening, just a notch. He poured three wines blind and challenged us to guess what they were. With this wine, I actually got the year right: 1953, but called it a Lynch Bages. Turned out to be the 1953 Ch Latour. The wine was really fine; complex, with red fruit and cedar; drank very well. (February 16, 2012, Bordeaux, France)

Almost 60 years, both the wine and me when I drank it in Paris, with very good friends. I felt great and the wine tasted really super. Served blind, I called it a very well aged Pauillac. I thought it was a younger wine. #bordeaux #paris #pauillac #pichon (November 20, 2010, Paris, France)
