Today my sister came over, and we whipped up a painting to hang in her new apartment. Believe it or not it only took us a few hours to complete. You can easily make your own with a canvas, a paint brush, 1/2″ masking tape, and three colors + white acrylic paint. Just tape up your canvas every which way, paint a gradient of each color in the taped segments, remove the tape, and enjoy!
Tissue paper cut-outs on canvas. Spray with water until the colors begin to bleed. Allow to dry completely, tip canvas and tissue should fall off. If it doesn't, allow to dry more. Coat with a clear coat preserver. (Some tissue is color-fast and won't bleed; test first.)
Use duct tape for words. Place crayons on top. Blow dry on high heat till crayons melt. Blow dry side to side to blend colors. Slowly remove duct tape to reveal words. I've seen the crayon thing before, but love the duct tape idea!
