I like use of rocks gravel to slow water down as it moves through landscape on slight slope. Flat stone with depression in foreground a perfect spot for bees & butterflies to get water (without drowning in a deeper birdbath)

Add Windows If your space is small, create windows, as seen in this gate, and vary the height of your plants or structures. That will give the area some visual relief -- and give your yard a playful quality.
entrance from road to front yard (awesome idea); I love the privacy combined with the curb appeal, and I love the pergola, as well as the idea of pathway! (Plants, etc. are obviously also an included desire for this.
