The Waltons...The first few years. Tales of a more innocent time with a whole gaggle of kids. As these kids grew up, it struggled and the grandparents got old and couldn't cut the snuff. Good Night John Boy. This was taken from the movie Homecoming. Loved the movie.

Waltons Thursday 8pm 'Good night John boy-goodnight Elizabeth

The Waltons was based on the writings of Earl Hamner Jr who wrote Spencer's Mountain and The Homecoming. It tells the story of a family in the mountains of Virginia during the Great Depression and World War II and aired on CBS for nine years beginning in 1972

The Waltons was my favorite show. I have seen every episode at least ten times since I was a kid, Life was so innocent back then. But then everyone in the show (all the girls I think - all posed for Playboy. Kind of gross.

The Waltons...LOVED the Waltons, especially the grandfather and grandmother.

I love this cover. John-Boy and and Mary Ellen were probably my favorite, most relatable characters in the series. John Boy the oldest, a writer, and just trying to find his place in the world. Mary Ellen and her spunk and determination to defy her station in life but to strive higher and higher.

I watch the re-runs on vision T.V. still today. Goodnight John Boy. And I still cry.
