Tomatoes need calcium to achieve their full flavor potential, and calcium is often greatly lacking in our soils. 95% of a dry eggshell is calcium carbonate. When planting your tomato plants crush up (to powder) about 4 or 5 egg shells and put them in the bottom of the hole. Then plant your tomato on top. Theyll provide calcium and prevent blossom end rot.

Don't throw your eggshells away. They are great for the garden in so many ways! And they're a cheap way to make diatomaceous earth. (Bugs don't like it)

The next time you boil a dozen eggs, save the water and pour it on your garden and plants.  The water becomes enriched with calcium when the eggs are cooked.  Plus, why pour water down the sink when you can reuse it for something, right?

Every once and a while I used to get those weird reddish-brown spots in my fresh eggs and I wasn't quite sure what they were--until now!

Epsom salt as fertilizer, pest deterrent, and seed starter, enhance quality of shrubs and lawn. Also, plant Marigolds with your veggies/herbs. For tomatoes bulbs: Drop 1 cup epsom salt and 1 cup of granulated sugar along with a few eggshells into the hole. Also, plant Marigolds with edibles to keep pests away.
