Tutorial: Vintage-looking painted sign from salvaged wood Today I have a little tutorial for you. I'm going to show you how to (easily!) make these sweet wooden signs. I promise- they're a cinch, they don't take long at all to make and cost pretty much nothing.

How to make an antique sign. After painting the sign (full tutorial included), use a soft cloth to apply a dark brown furniture wax in a thin layer to entire surface of sign. The wax will settle in the imperfections in the wood, giving the sign an authentically aged look. Allow wax to dry for 3-5 minutes, then buff to a shine with a clean cloth.

My grandmother would make you eat everything that was on your plate. If you said you were full or didn't like, it went in the refrigerator for the next meal. Big mistake! Lesson learned; eat it while it's still hot and edible. LOL!
