Cleopatra’s Needle Obelisk, Central Park, New York City is an Egyptian obelisk dated 15 BC and originally from Heliopolis.  It was a gift from Egypt in 1877.  There is concern that NYC should remove the obelisk from the park and place it away from the elements.  Apparently it has deteriorated quite a bit.
