Whole class journals..each student can write in them on a certain topic and the class can read them at different time. Great 'I'm finished early' activity!

Quiet writing time with fun music was one of the MOST peaceful times in my classroom this year. The kids loved it. Love this chart to introduce the expectations for it.

8 whole class journals for the students to write in. Select 8 students each week to write in one of the journals. The next week, 8 different children will be selected to write, and so on. By the time were finished, each journal should have about 25 different entries written in them. Students will be able to read what their classmates have written as well.

Creating class books...We make 1 per week and the kids LOVE reading them all year long, then we raffle them off on the last day of school. So fun!

Journal Jar

Journal Jar, GREAT for writing ideas! This site has 20 pages of student writing prompts, plus the label for the jar...fantastic!

Teaches kids how to use adjectives and allows them a chance to get used to standing up in front of a classroom full of children. A shy child could be a possible downfall of completing this activity to its fullest extent.
