the Lord is my anchor. It is well.

  • Love, Lis x

so this is a quote from a religious song. i dont think there is a square inch of me that is religious, but the story behind the writing of this hymn is kinda moving. In 1873, Horatio Spafford wrote the words to the hymn "It is Well with My Soul" after the tragic death of his four daughters, at sea. I thought of this a lot when my mum passed away tragically and knew i needed to accept what had happened to move forward. deep! :)

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, It is well, it is well, with my soul. -Horatio G. Spafford I love this song and the story behind it is incredible. What an incredible man of faith and trust in the Almighty God to say "it is well with my soul" even when he lost the most precious things in his life. That is inspiring faith.

"There's a peace I've come to know, Though my heart and flesh may fail, There's an anchor for my soul, I can say, it is well!" song: "I Will Rise"
