Play-and-learn sections of North Regional's Early Learning Environment include “Community Garden,” “Farmer’s Market,” “Kitchen Play,” “Picnic Table,” “Public Service Building,” and “Dance/Theater Studio.” Each includes a variety of props and costumes to encourage children to role play.

The children's library at the Central Public Library in Singapore was refurbished in 2013 using principles of sustainability. There were corporate sponsors involved. The library is using the sustainability themes as part of the programming for the area.
