Flight Behavior | Barbara Kingsolver I'm just wrapping up Kingsolver's most recent novel, "Flight Behavior" (HarperCollins 2012).
Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver: review from the DPL Reference Department. just finished this book. pretty good. definitely pushing an agenda but still worth reading.
Flight Behavior transfixes from its opening scene, when a young woman's narrow experience of life is thrown wide with the force of a raging fire. In the lyrical language of her native Appalachia, Barbara Kingsolver bares the rich, tarnished humanity of her novel's inhabitants and unearths the modern complexities of rural existence.

The Life and Times of Charles Manson. After more than forty years, Charles Manson continues to mystify and fascinate us. One of the most notorious criminals in American history, Manson and members of his mostly female commune killed nine people, including pregnant actress Sharon Tate. Now, drawing on new information, bestselling author Jeff Guinn tells the definitive story of how this ordinary delinquent became a murderer.
Manson, The Life and Times of Charles Manson - Jeff Guinn - Well researched and written book about Charles Manson. I enjoyed reading about him and his followers, although it's hard to understand why seemingly normal people would fall under the spell of such a loser. I guess his followers weren't exactly "normal". Where Helter Skelter concentrates on the legal aspects of the case, this book provides more of a comprehensive overview.

Bring Up the Bodies (Thomas Cromwell, #2) by Hilary Mantel Be sure to read the first book, Wolf Hall
Bring Up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel. In this sequel to “Wolf Hall,” Thomas Cromwell conspires against Anne Boleyn, whom Henry VIII has turned against so that he can marry Jane Seymour.
Bring Up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel. Winner of the 2012 Man Booker Prize. Sequel to Wolf Hall which won the prize in 2009.
I jumped straight into Bring Up the Bodies after finishing Wolf Hall, such was my eagerness to dive back into Hilary Mantel’s Tudor England and, of course, sit on the shoulder of the inscrutable, enigmatic Thomas Cromwell as he led us through it. I’m afraid this review is much shorter than my review of Wolf Hall, because many of the points still apply from one to the other.

Bring up the bodies : a novel by Hilary Mantel. "The sequel to Hilary Mantel's 2009 Man Booker Prize winner and New York Times bestseller, Wolf Hall delves into the heart of Tudor history with the downfall of Anne Boleyn Though he battled for seven years to marry her, Henry is disenchanted with Anne Boleyn. She has failed to give him a son and her sharp intelligence and audacious will alienate his old friends and the noble families of England.
NPR: I am in awe of Hilary Mantel. The scope and skill of her incredible Wolf Hall — which charted the rise of the brilliant Thomas Cromwell against the backdrop of Henry VIII's break with the pope — was staggering. When I learned she was writing a sequel, I couldn't help but worry: How could any author sustain that sort of sheer, daring genius for a second book? Easily, it turns out. Bring Up the Bodies is not only as wonderful as Wolf Hall, it may even exceed it.
