Heckle & Jeckle
Remember, Favorite Cartoons, Cartoon Characters, Childhood Memories, Saturday Morning, Memory Lane, Jeckle Cartoon
Saturday morning cartoons... Heckle and Jeckle were Magpies - I had no idea what that was; now I live with them!!!! Very pretty; but flying pack-rats! lol (Carson Valley, Nevada)
Heckle and Jeckle. The first TV appearance of Heckle and Jeckle was on CBS Cartoon Theatre, the very first prime time network animated cartoon series (appearing in 1956, years before The Flintstones). Dick Van Dyke was the host of the show, and he introduced the Heckle and Jeckle segments, along with those of Gandy Goose, by pretending to converse with the animated birds.
Heckle & Jeckle - My favorite cartoon. These wise-asses were always so jolly as they taunted the Harry Reid's of this world.
Heckle and Jeckle - This was my favorite cartoon; I don't remember what it was about though.
Heckle and Jeckle are postwar animated cartoon characters created by Paul Terry. The characters are a pair of identical anthropomorphic magpies who calmly outwit their foes in the manner of Bugs Bunny, while maintaining an aggressively mischievous streak reminiscent of the early Woody Woodpecker. Unlike Bugs Bunny, who retaliates against a foe only after repeated provocation, their comic aggression is often unprovoked, and in a number of Heckle and Jeckle cartoons their foes win in the end.
Heckle & Jeckle ♥ They got in mischief with style every Saturday morning at 6 AM
Heckle & Jeckle. My favorite cartoon because they always created chaos.
Childhood memory :)
Every single year in elementary school this is what I got for our gift exchange. In third grade I had a boyfriend who gave me one so that year I got two. I complained that I would at least not have to act surprised about getting these things when I made it to 7th grade. For that, my sister has given me one every year since. lol

I remember when . . .. local library
Libraries, Remember, Google, Childhood Memories, Library Books, Nostalgia, Checkout Cards, Library Cards
I remember when we signed out our library books on these cards, then handed the card to the librarian.
For anyone born after 1990: This is the check-out card glued into the back of library books. A librarian would hand-stamp the due date in on one of the blank lines.
I remember when . . .. The date due was stamped on the paper in your library book so you'd know when to return it.
Library card pockets. These were inside the back cover of every library book. Originally the due date was hand written, but later they used rubber stamps.
These were in library books. It was how you checked the book out. Sign the card and give it to the librarians.
I remember when you had to fill out the card from the back of the book to check out a library book
Esquire Endorses: The Public Library "Every book. Every movie. Every album. It's like Borders, Netflix, and iTunes combined -- for free. And it's so easy: You can go online and have the newest stuff sent to your local branch. Why you would leave this complimentary emporium to students and grandmothers is beyond me. Plus, a librarian is like a Google that actually finds what you're looking for and never clutters your screen with porn."
