From interiordesign.net Positivity Issue: "Let There Be Park" The story about the Lowline Park, NYC's Lower East Side underground park. Yes, you read that correctly. "What emerged was the concept of a subterranean park, ‘sunlit' and filled with lush greenery," says James Ramsey, founder of RAAD Studio. It's going to be like the High Line, but below ground. THIS IS WAY COOL.

The Lowline - Inspired by the success of the High Line, The Delancey Underground project is an agressive project to turn an abandoned trolley station under Delancey Street into "an extraordinary subterranean public park" using new technology to provide underground sunlight. To donate to the project visit http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/855802805/lowline-an-underground-park-on-nycs-lower-east-sid.
World’s first underground park - Two designers inspired by a previous New York City park want to turn an abandoned streetcar terminal into an underground public space. NYC doesn’t have a lot of open space for creating new viable parks. In 1999, residents proposed renovating an abandoned rail line and turning it into a park. In 2006, construction began on “High Line”, which is built on an elevated railway that runs for about 16 blocks, with elevator access and street entrances along the way.

Go to the High Line. You’ll still encounter plenty of out-of-towners snapping photos along the elevated park, which attracts thousands of visitors per day. There’s plenty to see, from public-art projects to beautiful urban greenery. Photo IWAN BAAN, 2011

The Isaly Residence is a stunning home designed for the Isaly family in a 1848 Gramercy Park townhouse in New York City. Turning a large triplex into two separate dwellings proved to be a challenge and the renovation involved replacing the old steel frame, as well as the electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems. By adding a 620 square feet penthouse…love it! I'd live there.
