    I think this is an example of a good magazine cover design because of the texture contrast. I like how the backround looks like a paper that has a 2D drawing on it, but the pencil shaving appear to be coming off the page or resting on top of the surface.

LOVE this composition. What if we have a sea bird seen from above, with the name/date of the event on the ground below? Would be simple to accommodate ambiguity – but very visually compelling

#7: I love the monochromatic color scheme of the poster. The image overpowers the text in order to capture the viewer's eye. The designer put the focus weight on the bottom but still lead the viewer through the page. Although it has a lot of negative space, the designer balanced it enough with contrast to have equilibrium.
