From Art, Paper, Scissors, Glue. Love these castles! Great lesson...draw first, roll out,cut, and add texture to clay, fire, paint black, then paint with metallic acrylic paint.

1. Rolling out clay to 1/4-inch thickness. Place leaf, vein side down, on surface of clay. Use roller to roll over the leaf (and thinning the clay). 2. Lift clay off mat, with leaf still in place, and trim excess clay with scissors. 3. Make oval shaped ring from a piece of aluminum foil and arrange leaf covered clay inside, making sure the bottom of the clay is resting on a flat surface.

make your own all you need is some clay and a toothpick (one of those metal ceramic probe thingies would probably work better but i think i left mine in storage...). start by taking a small piece of clay and flatten it in the shape you want your feather to be in. i started by tracing where i wanted the center quill of the feather to be and pressed down everywhere else so that the quill was the only raised area. then just use your toothpick and make lines down on either side of the quill. it'
