LOVE! A Fresh Start Transform your waste-of-space entertainment center into a handy, hardworking laundry station. After applying a fresh coat of paint, install a hanging rod in one of the tallest sections to function as storage and a place to drip-dry delicates. Baskets offer organized storage for ironing supplies and other necessities. A lazy Susan keeps cleaning supplies within reach.
Salvage a Media Cart - Unattractive TV carts like this one are cheap thrift shop regulars. To turn an old castoff into a charming bedside table, start by removing the casters and replacing them with new wooden furniture feet. Prime and paint the cart. Remove the doors and decoupage the fronts with decorative paper. Cut a new back for the cart from í-inch plywood and decoupage it with coordinating paper. Add new knobs to the doors and reinstall.
Reused drawers turned sideways for shelving. I saw this in an issue of ReadyMade once and LOVED it; I have a couple of wood drawers that I picked up just for this purpose someday. (Currently we're using them as underbed storage now, which also works.)
