If you wanted a shiner look, try some PodModge. You could use that also instead of glue. Makes dusting easier too!
I'm a weaver, and use alot of recycle fabric, for a blanket we use old sheets, which we fold twice, pin and cut in circle, then we ball each strand, hard to explaine but once done they look just like the pictures, but I use them to make something, but it would look nice for a decoration.
