    She kept trying to runaway. Once she had even made it halfway down the road, suitcase packed with snacks, favorite books, and a change of underwear in hand. She had threatened to join the circus as a magician’s assistant. But her threats were only met with laughter. The thing was, she wasn’t a child anymore at all. She was grown and soon-to-be married and had a nice, stable job in a friendly, dusty town. Some days she thought she was going to go mad. But that day she found herself walking down the dirt road, she realized she had no idea what she was heading toward. It was then she promised herself never to be a runaway unless she was running to something, rather than from it. Three days before the wedding she didn’t want, she discovered something to run towards: her dreams. So she shook off the dreams others had for her, and set off on foot. {image by Anka Zhuravleva}

This is an exercise for writers block that I love doing: Take this picture and write a metaphor, a poem, sentence, paragraph or story about it.

Love, though I would not be happy if I were the parents that bought those expensive looking dresses to see them come home with mud and creek water. Oh well, the picture is amazing =)

Couldn't find my grade school pictures. But, did I ever tell you why I got kicked out of the Girl Scouts? Apparently this isn't the way to sell Thin Mints door-to-door..
