SILAS MARNER

so I think I'm in love

~Great read~

Uncle Silas by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu - if you like gothic horror in the true, original style , Le Fanu is a writer to check out. Leading writer of ghost/horror stories in the victorian era. Uncle Silas, written in 1864 has creepy old mansions, nasty relatives, weird cults and of course a damsel in distress who finds strength within herself!

ANNE OF GREEN GABLES

The Traitor's Wife: Kathleen Kent (also publised as The Wolves of Andover) is the prequel to Kathleen Kent's The Heretic's Wife. This is the story of how Martha Allen became the wife of Thomas Carrier (Morgan) and gives the reader a more detailed history of Thomas's past. Kent has a way of weaving words that keeps me drawn in and wanting to know what will happen. It's been a while since I read something from colonial history and I enjoyed this one very much.
