Macabre Mud by DaveAyerstDavies. Real photography. Macabre patterns are formed as volanic mud buddles up to the surface in Iceland. Huge single bubbles were growing and bursting in a volcanic mud pool. The bubbles grew to about 18in (45cm) in diameter then burst suddenly and the heavy mud collapsed in on itself. This image shows the instant of collapse, just a tiny fraction of a second, but incredibly complex shapes are formed as the surface of the bubble breaks up. @deviantart
