Stone Gable Laundry Soap...LOVE THIS STUFF for a few reasons: Smells AMAZING! All ingredients found at WalMart (total $37) Works GREAT! Tip: Be sure to FINELY grate the Fels Naptha. My smallest grating blade produced more like "shavings," which don't completely dissolve in my HE washer. I just ran the batch back through my food processor -- problem solved. Ran first load on July 4th, '13; anxious to see how long this $37 investment will last ; ) patty

This just might be worth a try. I prefer liquid detergent, but this is a smaller batch than the regular recipe I've used.

homemade laundry soap - Works great! (This recipe makes a soap powder.) I've been using it for over a week and I like it a lot. No more $9 bottles of detergent! I figured it out. The whole recipe cost $5.75 per batch (18 cups), which makes enough for 144 loads, or 4 cents per load. this link works
