Hush! A Thai Lullaby by Minfong Ho. Says Valerie, our Youth Services Librarian: "This a great calming book for naptime or bedtime. The repetitive phrases like "Hush! Who's that weeping in the wind? Wee-wee, Wee-wee, a small mosquito," prompt kids to find the animal or bug in the colorful illustrations and to repeat the sounds they make. Readers can also play hide and seek to find the "sleeping" baby and the animals. This a wonderful read for babies and toddlers."

Interesting, instant Finn favorite.

In the Night Kitchen - When asked, Maurice Sendak insisted that he was not a comics artist, but an illustrator. However, it's hard to not notice comics aspects in works like In the Night Kitchen. The child of the story is depicted floating from panel to panel as he drifts through the fantastic dream world of the bakers' kitchen.

right up there with East of Eden or Wild Swans. One of the best books I've read in years.
