Just recently finished reading "Sarah's Key." Such a great book that I had a hard time putting down. It really made me do some thinking.
Sarah's Key: a story about a 10 yr old girl who gets arrested with her family, but before she does she locks her younger brother in a cupboard thinking she will be back in a few hours to free him. And decades later...the rest of the story.

Though I think the people who did Harry Potter got it right up until the end! So congrats to them!(: The people who did The Help, Eragon, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians are TERRIBLE. I am SO disappointed in you. So take that rage from a 15 going on 16 year old :P ...... Sorry has to leave that cause its so true so also take the rage from a 12 going on 13 year old.....
So true. At first I thought that "Percy Jackson: the lightning thief" was an okay movie. But the book was flipping amazing! That movie was crap! What were those directors thinking?! Grrr! I just got done reading the second one hope they don't mess up that movie too. Grrrr. Yeah so I'm done ranting. The books are always better than the movies. Can't wait to start "titan's curse" XD

Safe Haven -- Just finished this book and loved it! Didn't know when I decided to read it that it's currently being made into a movie ... excited to see the movie! Moving on to my next Nicholas Sparks book now -- The Lucky One -- and then I'll watch that movie, too. :-)
This is the original cover of Safe Haven, the novel by Nicholas Sparks that has recently been made into a movie. On the assumption that I should be doing more than simply posting pictures from my favorite book-to-movie thrills. This is the first of Nicholas Sparks’ books that I’ve read, and I have to honestly say that I’m not in the least bit fond of it. I’m not enjoying this book in the least and I’m really struggling to get through it.

Great book about the will to survive and the extraordinary life or someone that never gave up
Book Club, Olympic Runner, Air Force, Amazing Book, Reading List, Favorite Book, Laura Hillenbrand, Dust Cover
Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand - I've been told by a friend that it's one of the best books he has ever read. Adding it to my must read list!
The book jacket describes the contents as “A World War II story of Survival, Resilience and Redemption.” It is all of that and more. The protagonist is Louis Zamperini who, at the hands of his Japanese captors, survived torture, starvation and sadism that plumb the depths of human evil. It is also the story of the men who endured those horrific conditions with him.
Laura Hillenbrand's Unbroken is an incredible biography of Louis Zamperini - an Olympic runner, Air Force pilot, Japanese prisoner of war, recovered alcoholic, husband, and minister. It's a must-read!
Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand- a World War 2 survival story and the biography of famous olympic runner Louis Zamperini
Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand - kind of looking forward to this movie. A true story of a Berlin Olympics participant who became a WWII airman, shot down, left adrift & captured by Japanese forces. Amazing book! Highly recommend!
Unbroken - Book review - Laura Hillenbrand did so much research for this book that Louis Zamperini claimed she knew more about his life afterwards than he did. Amazing book about an amazing man, who survived unimaginable horrors, and came back stronger than ever.
This is an amazing book. Just finished reading it for my book club. Louie's story is truly inspirational.
As reported in an exclusive for the Hollywood Reporter, Ethan and Joel Coen "have been tapped to rewrite Unbroken, the adaptation of Laura Hillenbrand’s 2010 book, for Universal -- which has been trying to mount a Zamperini story in some form or fashion for decades Universal picked up the rights to the book in January 2011, initially for Francis Lawrence to direct." Angelina Jolie came on board in December, and has reportedly been looking for "top flight" writers for this project. She has spent weeks searching for "top-flight writers" to tackle the project. Read the entire article here. I originally spotlighted UNBROKEN here on Novel Chatter in November, 2010 and am still mesmerized by Louis Zamperini. Here's a bit about this amazing book: On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared. It was that of a young lieutenant, the plane’s bombardier, who was struggling to a life raft and pulling himself aboard. So began one of the most extraordinary odysseys of the Second World War. The lieutenant’s name was Louis Zamperini. In boyhood, he’d been a cunning and incorrigible delinquent, breaking into houses, brawling, and fleeing his home to ride the rails. As a teenager, he had channeled his defiance into running, discovering a prodigious talent that had carried him to the Berlin Olympics and within sight of the four-minute mile. But when war had come, the athlete had become an airman, embarking on a journey that led to his doomed flight, a tiny raft, and a drift into the unknown. Ahead of Zamperini lay thousands of miles of open ocean, leaping sharks, a foundering raft, thirst and starvation, enemy aircraft, and, beyond, a trial even greater. Driven to the limits of endurance, Zamperini would answer desperation with ingenuity; suffering with hope, resolve, and humor; brutality with rebellion. His fate, whether triumph or tragedy, would be suspended on the fraying wire of his will. In her long-awaited new book, Laura Hillenbrand writes with the same rich and vivid narrative voice she displayed in Seabiscuit. Telling an unforgettable story of a man’s journey into extremity, Unbroken is a testament to the resilience of the human mind, body, and spirit. Published November 16th 2010 by Random House
