Homemade jewelry cleaner - I have tried this and am so happy to say it cleaned even the most tarnished of pieces I had about given up on! Will never buy it in the store again!! (Instead of the foil thing, I used my Lasonic cleaning machine though and it was magic!)
DIY jewelry cleaner: But NEVER NEVER NEVER take any type of brush to your jewelry. Anything abrasive can scratch up the surface of the metal. Take it from me - I am a Jeweler's Daughter :) And don't EVER use toothepaste... its too abrasive. Just tried it and my jewely is sparkling again.

1 cup boiling water, flat pan covered in foil shiny side up. 1/2 cup vinegar, 1 tbsp baking soda, 1 tbsp salt. Mix everything together except vinegar in pan, add jewellery and slowly add vinegar. Wait 5-10 mins, if necessary use a spoon to stir salt and baking soda. Rinse in water, dry. Prettygossip.com
