Known for being temperamental, and when racing, lazy and unpredictable, he proved his worth considerably more at stud than on the track. Leading UK sire in 1951, he was a five-time leading US sire, among his get, Bold Ruler, Nashua, Noor, Bald Eagle, Jaipur and Nasram. His desecendants include Mill Reef and Secretariat. He died in May 1959 and is buried at Claiborne Stud in Kentucky, USA.

Giant's Causeway (born on Valentine's Day, 1997, by Storm Cat out of Mariah's Storm, by Rahy). Bred in Kentucky by Orpendale and Michael Tabor, he was Europe's Horse of the Year in 2000, when he won five straight Group 1 stakes. Sire of champion Shamardal and 110 other stakes winners.
