Holly Mathis blog - lighting for kitchens.

I love the dramatic lights over the island...and teh wheeled wicker basket in the corner!

Two vintage ship lights, from Gaul Searson, add a few curves to all the straight lines. Design: Samantha Lyman.

#5.) Farmhouse kitchens have a vintage appeal. I adore the cabinets in this kitchen because of the glass doors and antique latches. I also like the industrial appeal of the ampersand sign, galvanized metal bar stools and antique drying rack on the island.

I like the small cabinet with the glass. However the molding is a lot of wasted space that I need. I would extend the cabinet to the ceiling.

circa lighting DARLANA MEDIUM LANTERN comes in gilded iron $630.

I like so many things about this kitchen. The dark wide plank floors, the white & glass cupboards to display pretty white dishes, the commercial grade appliances, ample amounts of counter space...

so much to love...the wide arched doorway, columns, step down into living room, build-in bookshelves...the windows and French door leading out of the kitchen....just perfect!
