A secured-to-the-wall half door instead of a wedged in baby gate. Interesting. Bonus is that it doesn't have to be permanent if you don't want it to be...unscrew it, patch things up. Voila!

This would be great for a kids room!!!

Genius! half door for any baby/kids room so you can hear if they wake, but they can't wander the house alone or play in their room while u cook, shower, clean.

Gate door

Dog/Baby gate = using a door we found at a garage sale for $5. He cut the door in half, installed the first half at the bottom of the stairs and used the other half at the top of the stairs

I've seen these Dutch doors used for a child's room or play room. Kind of like a baby gate so you can keep them from crawling all over the house but still be able to hear them playing.

I share your love of dutch doors thebeesknees, we want one for Will's room :)

What a great idea --- wish I had thought of it when the girls were little! But, will remember this when we bring a new puppy into the house!

Dutch door used in a little girl’s bedroom- LOVE!!! My daughters would make such fun imaginary games with that door! Also everything else about this room!
