This sweet vintage stovetop and oven form the 1920's would so perfect for a vardo.

Each vardo artist had their own unique style of decoration. In this example, high quality enamel has been used to execute the colours and scrollwork.

the front of Abel's vardo - doors are(left to right): Composting toilet, washer and clothes hanging space, and the utility closet (which is sealed from the rest of the vardo). Utilities = contains propane, battery (for trailer brakes), electrical panel, hot water heater, and a bunch of water plumbing.

I'm too in love with tiny houses and vardo designs. I need to decide one way or another if I want to just go for it. media-cache0.pint... hoping_for_rain cardboard castles

Vardo interiors may be rich in frills, lace, or cut glass. This is the interior of a wagon built for Swales Forest of Kent in 1906 by John Rudderham of Leytonstone, London. A wall pulls out to form the bunk.

It is generally reckoned that the gypsy caravan, or vardo, with stove and bed, first made its appearance in the mid 1800’s. They evolved into richly carved wagons, with large wheels suited to pulling off onto rough ground or crossing fords. The internal design is similar in most types. A double bed takes up the entire width at the far end, opposite the door, with a shorter bed for children underneath.

Original Reading style vardo built in the 1880's thought to be the last of this type, unrestored.

gypsies call a house on wheels a vardo. Vardos are not built with lofts due to their rounded roofs
