A mark for every breath you took, every blink, every yawn. One for every time you sucked your thumb, waved, closed your eyes and slept in perfect darkness. One for every hiccup. One for every dream you dreamed. It isn't very pretty. Some may even think it ugly. That's OK. It was your home. It's where I first grew to love you, where I laid my hand as I dreamed about who you were and who you would be. It held you until my arms could and for that reason, I will always find it beautiful.

The Beauty Love Left Behind. An old p&s; shot, taken when Davey was about six months old. I wrote this to accompany it: A mark for every breath you took, every blink, every sleepy yawn. One for every time you sucked your thumb, waved hello, closed your eyes and slept in the most perfect darkness. One for every time you had the hiccups. One for every dream you dreamed within me. It isn't very pretty anymore. Some may even think it ugly. That's OK. It was your home. It's where I first grew to love you, where I lay my hand as I dreamed about who you were and who you would be. It held you until my arms could, and for that, I will always find something beautiful in it. (Just thought this was very meaningful & amazing for a lot of women that struggle with their image after having a baby. My belly doesn't look like this one in the picture, but I do have a few stretch marks & it makes me feel better about them! <3 :))

If you could only see that still loving her is keeping your heart from me.. And I would love you always. Regardless of your faults, of your insecurities, of your fragile and broken heart.. I will mend it all if you allow me to.. Because you are everything I've always wished to have and everything I want to be.
