    Owls are such dignified and inquisitive looking birds. No wonder we use the term "a wise old owl." They really are beautiful and when I was a boy growing up on the dairy, they were everywhere in southern California. No longer. I miss the sight and sound of them, their cooing hoots were a calming sound on those nights long ago. It's sad that we have elected to use so many poisons and destroy so much of their habitat that they are disappearing fast. What an incredible creature.
