With a ceiling that reaches to 20 feet at its peak and a striking faux fieldstone fireplace, the great room has a wonderful atmosphere. Jean made the TV cabinet from old wormy chestnut. Ann mixed different Benjamin Moore glazes to create the sage green color for the walls.
The ceiling of the great room is reclaimed Douglas fir that had been covered with dirt and tar and stored outdoors for years. Sandy and a friend spent a day in the driveway sanding and oiling the wood.
