So many things to love about this quilt... Use of 30s fabrics, colors, applique, unusual design, quilting... Beautiful!

You could probably do this with a jelly roll (in color and in white) - sew two long strips together, cut them to make square blocks, and piece the square blocks together alternating horizontal and vertical orientations to get the zigzag effect.
