This is a place full of history and ancient natural homes. This little row of homes are in a market town founded by King Alfred the Great in 880. The homes on Gold Hill in Shaftesbury, England date from the mid-15th Century.

These are the stone cottages of Gold Hill in Shaftesbury, England a market town founded by King Alfred the Great in 880. The homes date from the mid-15th Century. They are built from local greenstone, a pale yellow sandstone that turns green when it is freshly exposed to the air. The floors are supported on oak beams and the roofs are either slate or thatched ... this picture are the massive ramparts of Shaftesbury Abbey where King Canute died.

Brighton, England. Today the posts are dedicated to the seaside city of Brighton! Probably one of the most famous seaside locations in the UK. The Brighton Pier and the Royal Pavilion are landmarks that only add name to the beautiful victorian architecture of the town and its history is terribly interesting and, if I remember correctly, slightly scandalous.
