Alcohol ink on cheap glossy tiles. I bought 8 tiles yesterday at Lowe's just over a buck. I thought alcohol inks might work on them and then found this tutorial on how to do them. Must seal with lacquer when done. Aren't these amazing?
so easy, so fun, the results are nearly immediate. alcohol ink dries very quickly on non-porous surfaces. start with a thin layer of the alcohol blending solution, spreading it evenly with a toothbrush. (this diffuses the color, brings out the saturation and extends the drying time.) then squeeze big drops of one color on the tile and watch it do the weirdest stuff ever. Sounds like a lot of fun to do with my "artsy" kids outside on the picnic table.
