Read this book. It will stick with you for weeks. The genre is fantasy, and would be categorized as urban fantasy except that it's more of a rural fantasy. The setting is the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. Bronwyn Hyatt is a member of a mysterious race of people called the Tufa who settled in TN before the European settlers arrived. She returns from Iraq an injured war hero and that's where the story begins. That's all I'm telling you, I don't want to spoil it. It's so good!

Books one & three are the better reads. The beginning of book one is a struggle to get through the first few chapters but hang in there because then it becomes a complete page-turner!
