Whisper phone, made of PVC pipe and patterned duct tape. Another great idea from this site: make a baggie quilt out of gallon or sandwich size baggies and strategically placed duct tape. Could be used for displaying students work (big bags) or a variety of centers, like Boggle! :) Can punch holes in top and hang from Command hooks! Looks like a fun, easy project too.

In this activity students will twist the plastic Easter eggs to make different words out of onsets and rimes. Students will be able to make all real words in this activity. Therefore, the focus will be on learning new and unfamiliar words. I'm sure you can do this with rhythms some how!

Consonant blends and consonant digraphs are very useful and are important for the students to know to be able to sound out more complex words. I believe having them all over the classroom and using them as decoration around the classroom is going to help the students learn them. This helps the students with their letter association.
