Guillermo del Toro - one of my favorite directors/writers. Unique story blending sci fi and reality during a dismal time in Spanish history. In the face of horror and hopelessness, a fairytale emerges. Soundtrack is a must, too.

COCO BEFORE CHANEL (2009) Audrey Tautou (Amelie) stars as legendary French designer Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel in this lively biopic that explores the fashion icon's storied ascension from orphan to seamstress and cabaret singer and ultimately, the queen of Parisian haute couture.

The Fifth Element, starring Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, Chris Tucker, and Gary Oldman. Raucous, outrageous, dystopian, and simply amazing!
