    Joy Johnson, oldest woman to run New York City Marathon, dies at 86. Johnson, of San Jose, Calif., completed her 25th run in the marathon on Sunday. She stumbled and hit her head near the 20th mile, but still managed to complete the race and carry out her annual interview with the 'Today' show's Al Roker the next day. 'At least she was running, the way she wanted to go,' said her daughter Diana Boydston.

    Running inspiration: "There will be days when I don't know if I can run a marathon. There will be a lifetime knowing that I have."

    Of all my accomplishments, my father thought running a marathon was the highlight!

    I think about this when I think of friends and others who have undergone serious injuries that stopped them from ever being able to do this. I try not to ever take for granted that I still can.
