Benson Died August 6, 2011 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom 28, of Angwin, Calif.; assigned to an East Coast-based SEAL team; died Aug. 6 in Wardak province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when the CH-47 Chinook helicopter in which he was riding was shot down.

Died of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his position during combat operations in Saqlawiyah, Anbar Province, Iraq.

Died of wounds sustained when hit by enemy small-arms fire in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

Assigned to 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines, 2nd Marine Div, II Marine Expeditionary Forces, Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. Died in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, while supporting combat operations. According to news reports, his family learned he was killed in an on-base shooting, but no additional details were available. The incident is under investigation.

Cassada Died January 6, 2009 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom 19, of Hendersonville, N.C.; was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; died Jan. 6 while supporting combat operations in Now Zad, Afghanistan.

Swanson Died February 7, 2011 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom 21, of Jamestown, N.Y.; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve, Buffalo, N.Y.; died Feb. 7 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
