Apricot Blackberry Puff Pastry Tart - Store-bought puff pastry is a wonderful shortcut for making summer fruit pies. Here, a sheet of the thawed pastry is topped with toasted walnuts, brown sugar, sliced apricots, and blackberries, and baked to a tender golden brown.
1 cup flour 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup of butter (usually equals 1 stick) 2-3 big apples (I'm biased towards Honeycrisp. Basically, they're the best.) ground cinnamon (I added this to the recipe because I'm a cinnamon fanatic)
A classic grunt is a dumpling-topped fruit dessert that's cooked on the stove; it is often called a slump. Our grunt has blackberries and raspberries that simmer together. Then dollops of ginger-spiked dumpling batter are added to the pan, to steam in berry juice. Give everyone a dumpling and a splash of heavy cream.
