"If you can possibly imagine, what it was like for me, many years ago, a totally unknown hoofer, to be cast in a Hollywood movie opposite Gregory Peck… The beautiful, quiet, gentle hero of countless, marvelous movies. In my innocence, I thought he’d be just like that. He was." Audrey Hepburn Happy Birthday Gregory Peck (April 5,1916 - June 12, 2003)

Dressed impeccably as always, this time in bright orange, the queen laughs during a visit to The Royal Veterinary College in Hertfordshire, southern England. Had to laugh at the big sign with 'Plagues' in the background...not that plagues are funny, it just seemed a humorous counterpoint to the Queen's bright face. Plagues anyone!? LOL

After refusing his proposal twice, Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon agreed to marry Prince Albert, later to become King George VI.  He was the king that the movie, The King’s Speech is about.  When they had their first daughter, they named her Elizabeth, but called her “Lilibet”.  When she became Queen Elizabeth II,  the Queen became known as Queen Mother.  She was a warm and friendly person, with a great sense-of-humor.  A very strong and independent woman she was.  She died in 2002 at the age of 101!

Yael Naim regrets that more of her Middle Eastern background doesn’t come through in her jazz- and folk-tinged music. “In Israel, there was a big influence from pop music ... it’s a small country and, you know, people wanted to feel they are connected to the big world.” But when it comes to her parents’ Tunisian roots, or her own Israeli childhood, she admits she would love to explore her background more through her music.
