G1 House / Gabriel Rivera Arquitectos. Located in Guayllabamba, place of warm weather and fertile land, G1 house is a composition of architecture and nature. An avocado tree (12 meters of height) is the “central node” or “start point” that helped us when placing the project in its site. Consequently, is from this “start point” that emerges architecture.
Oh these fireplaces! I'm not sure if I ever liked them, but by now they are pure nostalgia for me. I'm not sure that I would actively remove one, if it were in my house, but I'm not sure that I would seek to add one, either. One thing I do know: white is for the timid. If you're going to do it, at least go for orange!
fabulous outside fireplace/lounge area. My idea is to have this next to an outdoor kitchen area. On the other side of the chimney is the living room on the 1st fl, & master bedroom directly above it, so that all can share the chimney. Yah for cozy warmth!
A large stone fireplace is the centerpiece to this screened porch that sits in a wood cabin along Lake Michigan. Fire logs are nestled in a silver drink tub next to a slipcovered ottoman with a floral and fruity pattern. Vaulted wooden ceiling beams are juxtaposed with a striped awning and a shapely light fixture. (Photo: Matthew Gilson)
