I'm not a snow person but I could certainly handle waking up to this view every day. Those windows are wonderful.

So often we see beautiful pictures of sunsets over water, canyons, warm places... Rarely over cold and snow... I love how unique this one is

The shallow Depth of Field adds a lot to this photo by really emphasizing the flames of the fire. Because this picture wasn't taken at night, the contrast of the fire against the background is diminished and the flames/smoke would easily get lost or overlooked if the entire image was in sharp focus, by blurring the background the flames are able to stand out exquisitely.

Using our dutch oven we made our dinner but it had to simmer. In the mean time we got out our roasting sticks and did a few marshmallows over the fire.
