Mary Pickford became a favourite with audiences in the early 1910s, when silent films didn’t credit the actors. Although they didn’t know her name, she quickly became known as the “girl with the curls”. Once she achieved fame, she asked for her name to appear on the screen.

Mary Pickford *i've wanted my hair to possess the same glossiness as hers. [NOTE: The reason why ISFJs are so "prestigious" is because they DO NOT challenge authority; only wishing for their relationships with peers to run smoothly. It is toward the end of college, or the interview process is an institution left with several SFs. As the STs, NTs, and even a few NFJs, decided to speak out against authority. They were OUSTED. However, the quiet pushovers remain. And are fully under their control.]

Mary Pickford. Silent picture posing was so *very* mannered, pretty much the opposite of how we pose now. Look at how her left hand both points to the orchid and mirrors its shape. To modern viewers, this kind of pose looks both graceful and overdone. Melodramatic.

Mary Pickford (1892 -1979)
Mary Pickford was a silent film star and one of the earliest female film directors ever. She was insanely famous, and started the studio United Artists with her very famous husband Douglas Fairbanks and someone else you might know called Charlie Chaplin. She had a lot wealth and power and was barely five feet tall.

Mary Pickford, dear in my heart, was born in Toronto, lived at Elm and University. In 1914 she played Queen Anna Victoria in 'Such a Little Queen' with Hugh Ford, establishing her relation to the Victoria Temple on Annette in Toronto, and the Crown Victoria Ford. In the play she is 'Queen of the Ju Isles or Jews' and fairy Elven Queen. She is a main founder of the Oscars Academy, United Artists, overturned power for actors from abusive Studios, from poverty to riches. A woman ahead of her time.
Mary Pickford was also one of the first actresses that was also BEHIND the camera.
Happy Mary Pickford day!
