I have lots of windows!!! BHG Two single window panels are the perfect alternative to an ordinary headboard. To get this look, find windows that measure approximately the width of your mattress. Remove the glass and install fiberboard or thin plywood over the back for safety. Cut fabric to fit each section and secure it in place with spray adhesive.
I have a BEAUTIFUL fireplace screen - this is a nice idea. Cozy up your bedroom by unfolding a fireplace screen and hanging it on the wall behind your bed as a headboard. For an antique look, use spray paint to cover the screen in blue. After it?s dry, dip a sponge in bronze paint and wipe a light coat on the screen. Repeat with copper paint. Finish with a clear spray-on sealant.
Cute for guest room, have been thinking about making my own headboard....would be so hard...some wood, pillow stuffing or even microfiber bed cover and cut up(could make and sell some), nail/staple gun...a little work on the sewing machine, and some hand stitch buttons on
SO COOL! Someone wrote, "this has gotta be the 10th DIY headboard i've pinned (guilt for a project never attempted?); but this is by far the easiest one i've seen... and i love YHL, it's such a cute blog and their DIY projects are really practical (and gorgeous!)"
Very clean look- I like it! You could have two different pillow backs to switch out for the season- warm and cold.--- Great idea for guest bedroom!
This reminds me of thoughts I have had about a quilt headboard... (Having lived many years in earthquake country I am sensitive to the idea of anything heavy hanging over my head while I sleep... But a quilt should be safe!) We have a quilt hanging above above our bed. It is beautiful!
