Arches of New Abbey, or "Sweetheart Abbey", last Cistercian abbey founded in Scotland. Photo by Gregor Samsa. Endowed 1273 by Lady Dervorgilla of Galloway in memory of her husband John Balliol, and where she had his embalmed heart kept and was, upon her death, buried with it: hence the later name of the abbey. #Scotland #Travel
