Count Fleet, 1943 Triple Crown winner, with Hall of Fame jockey Johnny Longden in the saddle. Longden later became a trainer, winning two thirds of the 1969 Triple Crown by saddling Majestic Prince to win the  Kentucky Derby and Preakness. He is the only person to date to win the Derby as both a jockey and a trainer. Count Fleet, sired by 1928 Kentucky Derby winner Reigh Count, in turn sired 1951 Derby winner Count Turf, as well as the dam of 1965 winner Lucky Debonair.

Secretariat wins the Triple Crown.As a teenager from Kentuckiana, I had a poster of Secretariat rather than of Bobby Sherman like my friends, :) He was a handsome horse and wore blue and white checkerd print.

Spectacular Bid, Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner of 1979 and Horse of the Year in 1980.  He was called by his trainer Bud Delp "the greatest horse ever to look through a bridle" and missed winning the Triple Crown when he finished 3rd in the Belmont behind Coastal.   He may have been a disappointment to some, but this beautiful horse had my heart.
