Kamehameha Avenue looking towards downtown Hilo with snow-capped Mauna Kea in the background. The old Hilo Theater opened 1940 and survived the 1946 Alaskan tsunami but sadly closed after being engulfed in the 1960 Chilean tsunami. Vintage of this real photo postcard based on the 1947 Bob Hope movie “Where There’s Life” on the theater marquee. | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
Well preserved Native Hawaiian petrogylphs on the hardened lava at the Kona Village Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii. There is a nice boardwalk surrounding the petroglyphs for observation and preservation.
